Hangman by TheBlendies Hangman by TheBlendies
BACKSTORY "chapter" 2: Hangman.

Gosh, this was the most tiring one yet. Honestly. It took a long time to make. Three hours? With both of us working at the same time? No. It shouldn't have taken us this long. But for some reason, it did, and now we're tired. Haha.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Another Blendies backstory chapter! Oh yay. This is basically how Romeo managed to figure out what Colton's name is. See, isn't he a smart little boy? Poor Colton, though.. Oh well, Colton, you'll get him next time. Maybe :)
----------------------------------------------------------------
For those who don't get it, if Romeo hadn't gotten the answer, he would've told Colton that the hang woman needed a mouth, then ten fingers, so on so forth.

This is my favorite comic strip by you. I love how simple, yet so so so relate-able this is to our lives, especially when we were kids. Your handwriting and craftmanship made it easy to read. Your hard work paid off in this one. :D This is a very cute, charming comic that everyone can relate to. I love the third panel the best, I love watching the characters react to each other. The title also very clearly fits the story. Great job!!!

We have a new third person [Aoi] who joined us only a week ago, though we haven't uploaded the things we've made with her around yet.

Yes, we make the strips together. Ian does all the drawing, and I'm in charge of the editing, coloring and uploading. It's quite fun, really.

Epic! I've absolutely done this in real life. I love the personality of your characters, and once again the expressions are marvelous. The concept is great, which is good, this is once of my favourite of your works. Great job!

Really? HAHA I would love to do this, actually. And we try to make sure they're developed. Colton and Romeo are actually the characters we use the most, so yeah, I think we've got their personalities down.

I know right! Although I have a hard time with thinking of personalities at the beginning, I like to develop the characters as the stories go along.

This one is probably my favorite strip so far, love the way it just keeps getting funnier the whole way through.
(I love that line, "Isn't it supposed to be a hangMAN?")
The lettering is good overall, you have a very easy to read script, a big plus for a comic. :D
There are a couple of places where it gets a bit hard to read, though. (took me a minute to figure out that the H in panel 4 was it's)
This could be fixed by working larger when you are doing the original inking, so that the ink is less likely to bleed together and mess up your good lettering.
I love panel 2! The way you did the scrambled letters while keeping them legible, the gradient... makes me think of a TV sitcom or something where the picture goes wavy and they move to "after 2 hours..." :D
Panel 4 seems a bit overwhelmed by the speech bubbles, again, working larger means that you can write smaller but be more readable, so your speech bubbles won't take over the whole panel like that.
I love panels 5 and 6, give a great sense of how blatantly he's just throwing out random stuff to add.
Panels like these, with just a speech bubble in them, are great in moderation but don't over-rely on them, because like a good joke they loose their impact as they get used more often. In moderation, though, they can act as a great way to emphasize a line, kind of a speech bubble around a speech bubble.
And the last panel is one of my favorites in this strip. The way you have the view from over the shoulder with them framing the bottom of the panel is a great way of solving the issue of how to show everything you want in one panel. The chalkboard made me think for a second on why the letters stopped at "S", before it hit me that they stopped there because the next letter is "T":XD:
Its a great reminder of how sometimes the funniest part of a strip are the parts that aren't said directly, but that you have to think on for a second.
